Our ethos has always been to help couples create incredible weddings that are also affordable. We have stripped away the things that make weddings stressful and expensive, and kept everything that makes them magical.

Exclusively yours. The whole venue is yours, and yours alone, for your day - who wants to share their wedding day?
No fixed suppliers. Bring your own caterer and suppliers, or choose from our tried-and-trusted local list, (we are totally ruthless who makes it onto our list and have no financial agreement with any recommended suppliers).
No corkage, ever. Supply your own drinks, set up a Pimms or gin station, or hire a bar company.
No hidden extras. Everything you see when you visit is included in the hire price.
Fully furnished and styled. Vintage and antique pieces throughout, seasonal looks, and a free Aladdin's Cave of props so no need to hire in. Furnishing an empty venue is expensive and time consuming. We have done the heavy lifting so you don't have to.
Fires and Candles. There are inglenook fire places in the Webster Bar, the Great Hall and the Dining Room. We light the fires and provide the wood. Real candles are also allowed on the Dining Room tables and in The Webster Bar.
A professional, experienced and friendly team. Our wedding team is second to none. With a fountain of knowledge to help you on the run up to, and day of your wedding. The team will be first on site and last to leave, ensuring everything runs without a hitch.
Two dressing rooms. The Bryant Rooms and Fitzherbert Room sit on opposite sides of the Great Hall, so you can both get ready under one roof and still keep the surprise. This also means your photographer can capture both of you without a second shooter.
Stunning backdrops. See for yourself - The Pilgrims Rest is a photographer's dream! By separate arrangement with English Heritage you can have photographs taken in the ancient ruins of Battle Abbey escorted by a member of their staff.
Keep more of your budget. There are no mark-ups on catering or drinks leaving you more wedding budget.
Small but perfectly formed. Large enough for an evening party but cosy enough for smaller weddings right down to midweek elopement weddings, The Pilgrims Rest can comfortably seat up to 50 guests for the ceremony and up to 90 evening guests in total.
Sustainable by design. We reuse and restyle rather than sending decor to landfill - a more thoughtful celebration, beautifully done.
