The Aladdin's Cave Prop Room
The Pilgrims Rest is designed and furnished to help keep costs (and hassle) right down for our couples. We take great pride in the interior design and have lovingly furnished rooms with vintage and antique pieces. We also change the seasonal looks during the year to make the venue affordable but always aspirational.
Did you know that the cost of hiring furniture and props for a wedding normally adds upwards of 25% of an empty venue hire charge? Many wedding venues are carefully styled for open days - the reality an empty room to decorate can be daunting and disappointing. At The Pilgrims Rest the venue is always styled with everything you see, touch or sit on included in the hire charge.
We want our couples to have fabulous weddings and to make this even more possible we have transformed a former storeroom into a prop room - an Aladdin’s cave of sourced treasures. You will find helpful wedding accessories and timeworn pieces collected or sourced in French brocantes. There are old books, vintage skis and hampers including a vintage typewriter. Everything can be loaned to our booked couples with no extra charge.
Shelves of elegant photo frames for menus, glass vases for bouquets and vintage milk bottles for table decorations line the cave. Our team has created a space especially designed to help spark creativity and add layers of personality to your day and always with no extra hire fee.
Importantly, beyond its aesthetic charm, the Aladdin's Cave is rooted in sustainability and thoughtful reuse. By curating a collection of preloved decor, we offer couples the chance to beautifully style their wedding without the need to purchase brand new items that may only be used once. This not only reduces waste but can also result in significant savings of potentially hundreds of pounds compared to sourcing or buying decor individually.
