Below we have listed some of our resources and useful information for any new suppliers working at The Pilgrims Rest.
You will find below: -Our Virtual Tour (which includes a measuring tool) -Our Code of Conduct for working in the space -Parking information
Our Code of Conduct
Our code of conduct includes a list of our policies for working in the space including equipment we aren't allowed into the building due to the grade 2* listing, staffing etc. Please read through and confirm you are happy with everything via an email to our team. I have also included a break down of the kitchen spaces.
The closest car park to us is The Battle Abbey Car Park however they have recently introduced a ticketed system with a max stay of 6 hours. I have listed the remaining car parks below.
Mount Street Car Park Market Square Car Park Battle Railway Station Car Park
Alongside The Pilgrims Rest, we do have a small lay by that you are welcome to pull into to unload. You must move your vehicle after you have unloaded and as stated in the Code of Conduct, there must be no vehicles in the lay by an hour before the ceremony. You will see the lay by in the virtual tour however the easiest way to find us is by driving towards the Battle Abbey Car Park. The lay by will be on your right.
*Please note - there is no on site parking at The Pilgrims Rest*
Bands/DJs/Musicians
FAQS Where can I park? Please see the parking info above.
Is there a space for me to store my things and get changed? Please liase with the couple and ensure they are happy for you to use their dressing rooms if needed.
Is there a sound limiter? Nope! We just ask you are mindful of the age and historic significance of the building as well as our close by neighbours. If our team ask you to turn down the volume - we're not being mean!
Where can I set up? Below is an idea of the band and DJ set up areas. I would also check with the couple in case they have a preference. Ceremony musicians will either be on the top right of the image below or at the bottom of the stairs.
How much space do I have to set up? We're not a massive venue, we usually ask that bands and DJs keep their set up to 2x3 meters depending on the guest numbers.
What time does music finish? Our license means that music must finish by 11pm. If the couple have a 12 hour hire (or less) their finish time may be earlier.
Does the venue need anything from me? Your arrival time, your start time, and a copy of your public liability insurance. Your equipment must also be PAT tested. We would need these details 4 weeks before the event.
